Ice Ray Hockey Academy is excited to offer a specialized Defense Players Small Group Camp for boys and girls who want to improve their skills, confidence, and understanding of the defense position. This is not a general hockey camp. It is a focused, position-specific development program designed to help players learn the details of becoming a modern defense player. The camp is limited to 12 players only, allowing each athlete to receive more individual attention, corrections, and quality repetitions. Camp Details: Dates: August 10–14 Location: RINX Arena Group Size: Maximum 12 players Ice Time: 2 hours per day Total Ice Time: 10 hours of intensive defense-specific training Video Sessions: 3 video meetings Price: $550 for the full week What Players Will Work On Players will focus on key areas required to play defense at a higher level: Defense-Specific Skating Backward skating, pivots, lateral movement, transitions, gap control, and movement under pressure. Breakouts and Exiting the Zone Players will learn how to read pressure, scan the ice, make a strong first touch, choose the right breakout option, support their partner, and move the puck quickly and calmly under pressure. 1-on-1 Defensive Play We will work on angle, gap, stick position, body position, timing, and how to close space on attacking players without overcommitting. Blue Line and Offensive Zone Play Players will learn how to walk the blue line, create shooting lanes, keep pucks in the offensive zone, make quick decisions, support the attack, and become more involved offensively without taking unnecessary risks. Video Sessions Included During the week, players will take part in 3 video sessions where we will show and explain the habits and details of modern defense players. The goal is to help players not only train harder, but also understand the game at a higher level.
