Block 1 – Elite Skills, WEDNESDAYS

DETAILS: Focus on building a high-level foundation of individual skills that translate directly into game performance. The block is divided into 4 key areas: 🔹 Powerskating Elite edges: transitions from inside to outside edge without losing balance Quick start technique: mastering the first 2–3 explosive steps Acceleration, crossovers, and lateral movement Edge control, posture, and body positioning Applying skating mechanics to game situations (with and without the puck) 🔹 Puck Control Stickhandling at high speed and in tight spaces Deception through body and hand fakes Controlled puck movement with head up Handling the puck in game-like transitions and pressure situations 🔹 Passing Technical focus on forehand and backhand passes Quick decision-making with the puck Passing on the move and under pressure Receiving passes in motion with proper body/stick positioning 🔹 Shooting Shot mechanics: quick release, snap, and backhand Shooting in stride and from different angles Timing and weight transfer Focus on accuracy, power, and scoring mentality 🧠 The Approach We work in small groups of 5–6 players, which allows us to give full attention to each individual. ⚪️ Every player receives personal feedback and correction ⚪️ Exercises are tailored to the player’s level and needs ⚪️ We track individual progress closely and adjust the program as needed ⚪️ Each drill is explained in detail, with a clear focus on purpose and execution ⚪️ These are intensive, high-quality sessions designed for players who want to improve fast and correctly. 📅 Schedule & Details Age Group: Players born 2013–2017 Start Date: Wednesday, September 10th Time: 6:45–7:45 AM Location: Cwench Centre by Canlan Number of Sessions: 9 total sessions in Block 1 Each participant in Block 1 will receive a jersey, hoodie, and hat. The program is led by Coach Daniel Ershov, bringing the experience from National Team experience and KHL
